Southampton supporters have not been left impressed by the news that Ryan Giggs is reportedly interested in becoming their new manager.
The Manchester United legend is keen to get into management, and feels that St Mary’s is the best destination for him to start in, according to the Daily Mail.
Many expected the Welshman to be groomed into a future United manager when he joined David Moyes’s coaching staff in 2013.
Giggs stayed with the ex-Everton boss until his axe in April the following year, and the former United star had his first taste of management when he took charge of the club’s final four Premier League games, which ended in two wins and two draws.
Rather than being handed the Old Trafford hotseat on a permanent basis, Giggs was appointed Louis van Gaal’s assistant manager, and was overlooked by his club again when Jose Mourinho was hired last summer.
The former Wales international then cut ties with the Red Devils and since then has been carrying out TV punditry work.
The Daily Mail claims that Giggs wants to begin his managerial career at Southampton, but fans are not sure that he is the right man to replace Claude Puel, who lasted just one season.
