Wolves have the money available to make new signings in the January transfer window, according to reliable journalist Tim Spiers.
The Lowdown: Mid-season signings needed
Wanderers were beaten 1-0 by Liverpool in dramatic fashion on Saturday, with Divock Origi’s stoppage-time strike inflicting defeat on them at Molineux.
It was always going to be a tough game for Wolves and they appeared to tire as the minutes ticked by, eventually being ground down by Jurgen Klopp’s men.
The fatigue on show arguably highlighted the need for some new faces to arrive in January, in order to inject some energy and quality to Bruno Lage’s side’s European push.
The Latest: Spiers give promising update
Taking to Twitter on Saturday evening, Spiers confirmed in a six-word verdict that the funds are there for reinforcements to be made:
“There is money there for sure.”

The Verdict: No additions would be a shock
While Wolves don’t have European football to focus on this season, making their schedule less hectic, it would still be a big surprise if no signings were made.
Lage has a good squad at his disposal but it could be better, allowing him to keep players fresh as the matches come thick and fast, in order to keep key figures in good shape right up until May.
Signing Hwang Hee-chan on a permanent deal would be a good place to start especially if Adama Traore moves on – other clubs could swoop if they wait until the summer – and the Spaniard’s exit would only generate more funds for transfers.
