The Scotland international's dip in form has become a major problem for the Reds, who are now being linked with a number of other defenders
Despite dropping two points at home to Fulham on Saturday, there were plenty of positives for Arne Slot to take out of the 2-2 draw. Andy Robertson's contribution certainly wasn't one of them, though.
The Scot had a shocker at Anfield. First, he deflected Andreas Pereira's shot past Alisson Becker after losing the Brazilian in the build-up to Fulham's 11th-minute opener. Then, the 30-year-old was rightly shown a straight red card for chopping down Harry Wilson after gifting the Welshman the ball with an atrocious first touch.
Sadly for Robertson, his dismal display didn't come as that much of a surprise, as he's been struggling all season long and Saturday's performance only underlined Liverpool's need to sign a new left-back.
Kostas Tsimikas, who is currently sidelined through injury, has deputised very well for Robertson in the past but very few believe that the Greek is really of the level required to be the Reds' starting left-back – and definitely not on a long-term basis, given he's 28 himself.
So, who should Liverpool be looking at signing, sooner rather than later? GOAL breaks down the leading contenders below…

It's fair to say that Antonee Robinson couldn't have picked a better time to become the first United States international to rack up two assists in the same Premier League game since Roy Wegerle, all the way back in August 1993.
The Fulham left-back was outstanding against Liverpool and showed precisely why he's long been linked with a move to Merseyside.
"What a performance!" coach Marco Silva enthused afterwards. "This season he is so decisive. He was brave, assertive and aggressive in the right way when he came up against Mohamed Salah."
Indeed, Robinson wasn't just excellent going forward, he was dogged in defence, too, doing a damn fine job frustrating Salah, who did produce an assist but also got quite annoyed by the attention he was receiving from his American adversary.
At 27, Robinson might not conform to the age profile Liverpool usually look for in new signings but he's arguably the best left-back in England right now.

The dream signing. It feels as if Alphonso Davies has been around forever, so it's hard to believe that he's still only 24 – but that's only because he was so young when he exploded onto the scene at Bayern Munich in 2019.
Davies has pace to burn and is a fantastic dribbler, making him a nightmare for opposition full-backs. He's also set to become a free agent at the end of the season, meaning he's free to start discussing pre-contract agreements with other clubs from January 1 onwards.
The one issue here as far as Liverpool are concerned would be Davies' wage demands, particularly as Real Madrid are also interested. Indeed, the Canada international looked destined to move to the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this year but now his future is very much up in the air.
Indeed, Bayern now seem cautiously optimistic that Davies will end up staying at the Allianz Arena beyond the summer….

David Raum has been one of the best attacking left-backs in Europe for some time now. Both Manchester clubs were linked with signing the Germany international even before he moved from Hoffenheim to RB Leipzig two years ago.
According to recent reports, Bayern Munich have now identified Raum as a potential replacement for Davies should he decide against extending a contract that expires next summer, while there has also been talk of a transfer to Anfield.
Liverpool obviously have an excellent relationship with Leipzig and Raum, who played either up front or on the wing until he was 19, and he would definitely be an excellent addition to Slot's side.
The 26-year-old is Germany's best left-back and was fantastic in last season's Champions League, creating more chances (20) than any other defender bar Achraf Hakimi (27) despite playing in only seven games – four fewer than the Moroccan.

Just like Robertson, Rayan Ait-Nouri saw red at the weekend, with the Algerian dismissed after Wolves' 2-1 loss at home to Ipswich due to a tunnel clash with Liam Delap.
Still, while there's no excuse for allowing his frustration to get the better of him at Molineux, it's nonetheless impressive that Ait-Nouri has managed to shine so brightly this season within one of the worst teams in the Premier League.
No Premier League defender has been directly involved in more goals than the 23-year-old, who has created three and scored three himself. Ait-Nouri is also highly adept at regaining possession for his side – not least because of his strong tackling.
Liverpool were linked with him before the current campaign even began and it was claimed last month that the Reds will go all-out to sign Ait-Nouri if Wolves are relegated at the end of the season.
